What is the staff profile at mia?

Patent attorneys and patent specialists: At MIA we are interested in university graduates or postgraduates with a technical degree (particularly in engineering or in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, physics or computer sciences), who are fluent in multiple languages (a high level of written and spoken English is essential). Prior work experience in the patent sector is not necessary. However, any such work experience or a qualification in the patent sector, such as having passed any or all papers of the European Qualifying Examination , will be considered advantageous.

Lawyers: At MIA we are interested in university graduates with a degree in law, who are fluent in multiple languages (a high level of written and spoken English is essential). Specialized studies and/or previous experience in the intellectual property sector will be considered advantageous. We are particularly interested in lawyers capable of processing Spanish, European (Community) and International trademarks, capable of opposing third party registrations and capable of making appeals, including Contentious Administrative Proceedings. In addition, said lawyers should be able to draft license and technology transfer agreements for patents and trademarks, as well as be able to take part in the negotiations thereof. Lastly, any experience with litigation, particularly in intellectual property matters, will be advantageous.

Administrative staff: At MIA we are interested in paralegals that are fluent in multiple languages (a high level of written and spoken English is essential). Previous experience and/or specialized studies in the field of intellectual property will be considered advantageous. Ideally, knowledge of patent and trademark proceedings at different offices and computer-literacy will be considered advantageous. Additionally, any expertise in accountancy concerning payrolls, tax matters and general management will be valued.
